Hastelloy C-276 alloy demonstrates excellent corrosion resistance in both oxidizing and reducing conditions. It offers outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. The alloy is suitable for various chemical process industries involving both oxidizing and reducing media. The high molybdenum and chromium content allows the alloy to withstand chloride ion corrosion, while tungsten further enhances its corrosion resistance. Hastelloy C-276 is one of the few materials capable of withstanding corrosion by wet chlorine gas, hypochlorite, and chlorine dioxide solutions. It also exhibits significant corrosion resistance to high concentrations of chloride salt solutions, such as ferric chloride and copper chloride.
